What is wrong with Forney’s ”Old Glory”
A couple of weeks ago a friend commented that it sure was nice to see the old Forney flag up along Highway 80 again. He said he thought the new one was on order and so they had the old one up. I have to admit since I travel all over the country there are a lot of things that go on in my beloved Forney that escape my attention. One being that Forney had adopted a new flag. I thought “now why would the City Coun cil do that?” My friend jogged my memory that the old Forney flag was the product of a design contest in the 1980s sponsored by the old Forney Homebuilders Association (the same group that once brought Garth Brooks to Forney for the Chili Cookoff).
