Straight from the “What Were You Thinking?” file is a sad and unnecessary story out of West Virginia. According to an article posted by Fox 5 News, students at the Nutter Fort Primary School in Harrison County, West Virginia were participating in a Thanksgiving play. The video shows what appears to be the culmination of the holiday program with the children stepping up to the microphone saying “Thank you for coming!” Just as the last child in line, a student with Autism, steps up to the microphone to utter his lines “Gobble, gobble, gobble!” a teacher can be seen snatching the microphone away and departing from the stage area. The student cries out “Oh no!” and is left in tears. Audience members can be heard on the video murmuring with one woman asking “Why would she do that?” The student and his parents were heartbroken.
