In the spring of 1973, I graduated from East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas, with a Broad-Field Major in Social Sciences and a 2nd Major in English. I had a Teacher’s Certificate and had really enjoyed Student Teaching at Mesquite High School but was not really sure what I wanted to “do with my life.”
