On March 4, for the second time since late February, residents of Forney and the rest of North Central Texas found themselves in the path of a winter storm. The storm hit late Wednesday night. By Thursday morning, it had pelted the area with from three to seven inches of the white stuff—a cold “frosting” on a “cake” of about half an inch of ice from sleet and freezing rain that glazed streets before the snow came in behind it. The snowfall set a record for March.
