Downtown street project summarized

Forney’s downtown area is due for a makeover in the very near future, Warren Ketteman, Executive Director of Forney’s Economic Development Corporation, confirmed Tuesday.

Preliminary planning began more than a year ago. Since then, the Forney EDC has finalized the scope of the project, educated affected businesses regarding what to expect during construction, and has accepted a bid from Axis Contracting to do the work.

Construction will be done to reconfigure parking and revise drainage along South Bois d’Arc from Front St. to Trinity St. and east along E. Main St. from S. Bois d’Arc to Elm.
