HOPPIN’ AROUND

I went back to school Tuesday evening, Feb. 28— and I really enjoyed it. On Feb. 28, the Forney Police Department launched a Citizens’ Police Academy, and I’m pleased to be a member of the first class of citizens to take this 12-week course.

The Citizens’ Police Academy is similar to the Leadership courses some of you have taken, either through Leadership Forney or through Leadership Kaufman County. The main difference is that everything that’s covered in the FPD series of classes is police-related.

In the absence of Police Chief Rob Sherwin, Forney Police Detective Michael Clay served as the host for the Academy’s first session. And a gracious host Det. Clay was.
