Dixie Banks Ohman

Dixie Banks Ohman, of Forney, passed away Jan. 11, 2016 in Rockwall. Dixie was born January 22, 1933 in Buchanan County, MO to Auburn J. and Mary P. Banks, both of whom welcomed her into Heaven along with her husband, Albert John Ohman and her siblings: Carl Banks, Benny Banks, and Delores Shaw. Dixie was an active member of First Baptist Church of Forney and also worked with Southwestern Bell/AT&T as well as Microsoft before retiring in 1997. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and dancing and her grandchildren were the light of her life and they each gave her immeasurable joy and pride. Dixie leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Karen Ohman Herrera of Forney; David Ohman and wife, Donna of Kansas City, MO; grandchildren: Ian Herrera, Taylor Ostronic and husband, Brett and Eva Ohman as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. Funeral service will be at 2:30pm, Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Forney with interment to follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
