Sanitary sewer overflow near NTMWD’s Forney Lift Station

(WYLIE, Texas, February 9, 2015)—The North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) has experienced an overflow of domestic wastewater from its wastewater collection and conveyance system. The overflow occurred at a manhole near the Forney Lift Station, located at 11682 Walnut Lane, Forney, Texas. The overflow appears to be contained within Mustang Branch. The overflow occurred on February 8, 2015 with an estimated volume of 292,600 gallons. This sanitary sewer overflow occurred due to a failure at the NTMWD Forney Lift Station. NTMWD personnel swiftly responded to the incident and have been onsite for environmental assessments, have initiated clean-up activities, and are initiating repairs.
