A member of the band “Texas Cotton Kings” is shown with the official cake celebrating Forney’s 140th birthday as a community. The last time Forney residents marked Forney’s birthday with an official celebration was in 1974,when Forney turned 100. Forney’s age is calculated from the year it was renamed after Col. John W.
