Alex was a good-natured adolescent, made good grades, and rarely caused his parents even minor trouble. About 3 months after the murder of his grandmother, his behavior began to change. Grades began to skip, fights with classmates began off campus, and major behavior problems began at home. Counseling didn’t seem to help and he was always reluctant to go. His parents were obviously concerned and did everything they knew to do to help him. Eventually medication was prescribed for his severe depression and anxiety. After high school graduation, he began a few semesters of college.
