It’s the code of the South

The last few days I had to give my two favorite California girls a lesson in the code of the South. Lori is with me the next few weeks as I work in California. She flew to San Diego a couple of weeks ago and has been staying with her mom in San Diego. I joined her last week and had barely gotten settled in when my wife and motherin-law told me they had a job for me. I was apprehensive because, as you may remember me writing, several months ago I came out for a visit and was recruited to fix a broken sewer pipe in the front yard of my wife’s mother’s house. The pipe was broken a full six feet under her front yard, to be exact. She had two quotes of $5,000 and $8,000 from plumbing companies to fix it and with some hired help I got the job done for a few hundred dollars.
