Three Rights Make a Left

In 2000 I was elected by our Congressional District to be a delegate to the Republican National Convention in Philadelphia. Our kids’ ages ranged from preteen to barely teenagers. When it came time to go, Lori was working in Washington DC and we decided she would just meet us in the City of Brotherly Love. The kids and I painted up the windows of our green Pontiac van with the words “Philly or bust” and plastered it with George Bush signs and we started the long trip to Pennsylvania.
