Lewis Douglas Bush
Douglas was born in Kaufman, TX to Henry W. Bush and Cordie Lee (Kines) Bush on May 17, 1943 and died June 19, 2015 at his home in Silver City, NM. He was a 1961 graduate of Forney High School where he played football (All District Guard) and participated in other student activities. He was president of the Student Council and Letterman’s Club his senior year. He served in the Vietnam war as an AVRad Tech as a corporal in the Marine Corps. He worked for Phelps Dodge Mining Co. in Bisbee, AZ, later transferring to Tyrone, NM where he retired and moved to Silver City. He attended Western NM University and received a degree in Science. He was also active in the American Legion. Douglas was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Mike Bush, sisters: Patty David, Katherine LeNormand, Mary Bush and Sue Bush. He is survived by his daughter Amanda Landrum and husband Scott, grandchildren: Ayasha, Dominick, Melanie and Emily, brother: Larry Bush, sisters: Sarah Taylor, Sallye Clemmons, Barbara Pierson, Rena Lewis and Ora Bruce. Douglas was buried with full military honors at Fort Bayard National Cemetery near Silver City.
