Shelby Donald Hicks

A funeral ser vice for Donnie Hicks, 77, was held on Saturday, January 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home in Terrell, Texas. The interment immediately followed the service at Clifton Cemetery in Point, Texas. ReverendDanny Calk officiated.  Shelby Donald Hicks was born on May 27, 1937 to Henry and Ruby Hicks in Dallas, Texas. He received an Associate’s degree in Engineering from UT Arlington. Donnie would work as a contract engineer for over fifty years beginning with Fritz W. Glitch and Dresser Industries before opening his own firm, Dosaco Design in 1980. Donnie met and later marry Sandra Mitchell in 1957. She would remain the love of his life for fiftyseven years. He was a faithfulmember of the Lone  Oak Christian Church for over twenty-five years. Donnie is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ruby Hicks; brothers, Henry Hicks, Jr., James Hicks and Kenneth Hicks. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Sandra Hicks; son, Doug Hicks and his wife Lisa; daughters, Donna Crabtree and her husband Phil, D.D. Rivera and her husband Ambrose; grandchildren, Cody, Clint, Laurel, Shelby, Lexie, Sam, Hunter, and Shannon; eleven and a half great-grandchildren; as well as numerous extended family, friends and neighbors.
