Marvis Colburn Colquette
Oak Grove, Louisiana, Mar vis Colburn (MC) Colquette received ultimate healing on November 16, 2014 at his home in Forney, Texas at the age of 69. With only an 11th grade education, MC showed what could be done with grit and determination to succeed in every job he worked. From the cotton fields of Louisiana, the Louisiana and Texas Army National Guard, Sears, Ruf fin Pre-Fab, and his own company, Metal Tex Systems, MC proved that with hard work you can accomplish anything. To know him was to love him. To be loved by him was something special. MC would do anything for anyone in need, and would help anyone who wanted to better themselves. He dearly loved his family and any time he could be with them. He was a man of character and integrity and demanded the same from those around him. He will be missed dearly but he has left a wonderful legacy for all of us to follow. The bar has been set high. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Shirley Schlebach Colquette; his children, Justin Colquette and wife Karen of Wortham TX; Steven Colquette and wife April of Forney, TX; his grandchildren Dylan, Devon, and Ana Colquette of Wortham, TX; his brothers Jerrell & Charlotte Colquette of Monroe, LA and Karon Colquette of Oak Grove, LA; his sistersin- law and brothers-in-law Augusta Cascio of Forney, TX; Peggy Schlebach of Forney, TX; Sidney & Beverly Schlebach of Forney, TX; Kenneth & Lisa Schlebach of Gun Barrel City, TX; Robert & Kathy Schlebach of Forney, TX; and Anthony & Kimberly Schlebach of Forney, TX as well as several nieces, nephews, and loved ones too numerous to count. MC was proceeded in death by his parents Greene and Ger trude Colquette; brother, Newell Colquette; Sisters, Mavis Day and Flois Gore. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at St. Martin Catholic Church, 9470 County Road 213, Forney, TX 75126 with Msgr. Glenn Gardener as celebrant.
