Anthony Krawec, age 77, of Forney, TX, passed away June 13, 2016. He was born January 9, 1939, in Wilkes-Barre, PA, to Michael Krawec and Helen (Ruglis) Krawec. Anthony proudly served his country in the nation’s oldest military branch, the Connecticut Army National Guard, protecting and working at the Connecticut Missile Nike Sites, which were line-of-sight anti-aircraft missiles. He graduated from the University of New Havens in West Haven, CT, as an electrical engineer and worked on helicopters and guided missile systems for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT, and Hughes Missile Systems and Raytheon Missile Systems in Tuscon, AZ. Anthony was a member of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Forney, the University of New Havens Alumni Association, and the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. He was a collector of sports memorabilia and a member of the American Helicopter Association. Anthony was also a regular blood donor to the American Red Cross for 45 years. He is sur vived by his loving wife: Patricia Velez Krawec of Forney; children: Jeffrey Krawec and wife Susan of Rowlett, TX, Jennifer Williams and husband E.W. of Dallas, TX, Katrina Schafler and husband Noah of Shelton, CT, and Cassandra Paul and husband Jerome of Lafayette, OR; brother: Michael Krawec and wife Patricia of Northford, CT; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Anthony was preceded in death by his parents: Michael and Helen Krawec. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Friday, June 17, 2016, at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 9772 FM 1641, Forney, TX 75126 with Father Peter Chinnappan officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm.
