James Monroe

James Monroe, age 80  and a 16 year resident of Forney, TX, passed away January 25, 2015. He was born March 10, 1934 in Point, TX, to Chester A. & Helen Marie (Carroll) Monroe. James proudly
served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was the owner/operator of an air conditioning company, and after retirement engaged in farming, ranching and bulldozer work. James was a member of the Hilltoppers, an organization at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, where he was also a member. Informally, he would gather for breakfast with
a group of regulars at the local Whataburger. James is sur vived by his loving wife: Doris (Macha) Monroe; children: Brian Monroe & wife Ana, Britt Monroe & wife Delores and Suzanne Phillips & husband Blake; brother: Ted Monroe; grandchildren: Maia, Myriam “Mimi,” Miranda, Josh and Brittany Monroe, Chris and Cliff Garner and Paul, Brad and Megan Phillips; great grandchildren: Trinity Garner, Noah McIntosh and Katie and Charlie Garner; numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved; and cherished friends, neighbors and church members. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters: Rebecca Booth and Juanita Thompson. Funeral services will be held 1:00pm, Thursday, January 29, 2015 at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 9470 CR 213,
(FM 1641 & Hwy 20), Forney, TX 75126 with Msgr. Glenn “Duffy” Gardner of ficiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. A Rosary will be held at the church at 6:00pm, Wednesday,
January 28, 2015, followed by a visitation from 6:30 to 7:00pm. Pallbearers will be Chris, Donald, Michael and Christopher Zmolik, Jaime Zavala and James Lipinski. Honorar y pallbearers will be
Paul and Brad Phillips, Josh Monroe and Jose Luis Rodriguez. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund at St. Martin’s
