Kickoff held for 2 major countywide transportation studies

During a meeting Monday in Kaufman, the Dallas-based urban planning and design firm ofFreese & Nichols kicked off the study process for a countywide transportation needs assessment and a study of transportation infrastructure needs along the U.S. 80 Corridor. The two studies are part of a series of processes that will eventually bear fruit in transportation improvements across the county in the wake of a $56 million bond issue OKd by Kaufman County voters in 2013. Both studies have a completion target date of December, 2015.
