The hunt

September First brings out the hunter in so many of us. In Texas the opening of dove season means much more than simply sitting under a tree and hoping to see birds fly near enough to shoot. No, the event starts with conversations and planning among friends. In every group of hunters there emerges a coordinator who delegates, who is to bring drinks, potato salad, chips, dips and that sort of thing. Often everyone will pitch in for the meat but it is usually the coordinator who does the cooking along with much of the planning.
