JOB FAIR
The Forney Church of Christ will host a job fair this Saturday, Oct. 15, in their church building from 10 a. m. to 3 p. m. The church building is located at 619 W. Broad St.
 
“BACK THE BLUE” QUILT
Corp. Bryan Shaw, an officer with the Dallas Police Department who was injured in the July 7 ambush of Dallas police officers, has received a Back the Blue” quilt from Kaufman Quilt Guild. Officer Shaw, the son of Danny and Nancy Shaw of Forney, received the quilt at the guild’s Oct. 4 meeting.
 
The Forney EDC will offer a new incentive to business owners in the historic downtown area who take part in downtown redevelopment. Details are on page 1 of our Oct. 13 issue.
 
TAX NOTICES
County residents will reeve their tax notices “at the end of this week or sometime next week,” according to County Tax Assessor-Collector Tonya Ratcliff.
