FORNEY, TX—The City of Forney has announced the names of finalists in the searches for the City Manager and City Attorney positions. Four candidates for City Manager and five candidates for City Attorney have been invited for interviews on July 6 and 7. “Finding the right people to manage the organization is key to the success of the City,” said Mayor Rick Wilson. “We are impressed with the number and quality of candidates who expressed interest in the positions and look forward to the opportunity to add two exceptional members to the Forney team.” The City selected Strategic Government Resources (SGR) to conduct and manage the nationwide search that resulted in an outstanding pool of candidates. SGR is a local government executive recruitment firm based in Keller, Texas. SGR’s proprietary recruitment and vetting process produced incredibly strong applicant pools for both positions. For the City Manager position, 65 applications were received from individuals in 23 states. More than 40 of the applicants had local government executive level experience, having served as a city manager or assistant city manager.
