Forney 5th grader receives Outstanding Soloist Award

Jen Crabtree, a fifth grader at Claybon Elementary in Forney received an Outstanding Soloist trophy in the recent Metro East Solo & Ensemble competition at Sunnyvale Middle School. In winning this award, Jen followed in the footsteps of her older sister Alli, who won the award last year. Jen and Alli are the daughters of Kristie and Scott Crabtree, and are both students of the Stephens Vocal Studio. Jen sang the art song The Desperado, arranged by Benjamin M. Culli. She was accompanied by Mrs. Vanna Duda. Jen was selected by the judge over 25 other singers, most of whom were 7th and 8th graders.
