County, local first responders ready for Ebola if it strikes

Up until late September, no one in North Central Texas seriously considered that Dallas County could become the first U. S. hot zone for Ebola, an often-fatal, highly contagious hemhorragaic disease from Africa. But all that changed when the late Thomas Duncan, a native of West Aftica who travelled from Liberia to Dallas while harboring the Ebola virus, developed symptoms after he arrived and was later hospitalized.
