Members of the Forney Fire Department who made up the Forney Combat Challenge Team that recently competed and won several awards in Las Vagas were awarded the City of Forney’s STAR Award Tuesday night. At Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, the Council and Mayor Darren Rozell recognized five members of the Forney Fire Department who were members of the Forney Combat Challenge team that competed recently in Las Vegas. Each member of the team received a check for $50.00 and a paid day off of their choice. They also received a STAR Award trophy from the Mayor. The STAR Award is given to city employees who have gone beyond the call of duty as city employees.
