The general public has become aware in the past few weeks of a scandal brewing at Wells Fargo, a nationwide banking institution. It appears that Wells Fargo employees opened credit and debit card accounts in the names of millions of its customers— without their knowledge. Actions such as this can adversely affect a customer’s credit score when, for example, they apply for a mortgage or other loan. And that effect is at a minimum.
