Forney no longer has a city manager. In an action taken Tuesday evening, the Forney City Council voted to accept the resignation of City Manager Brian Brooks. Those of us who have watched recent deliberations of the Council had halfway expected this to occur. What’s so unnerving about what the Council did this week is not so much the decision itself, but the abrupt way it was made. As far as I know, Brooks had done his best to work with the Mayor and the Council.
