North Texans are taking the heat

by Cary’

Like much of the Southwest, North Texas is beginning to swelter as July days come and go. Although we haven’t officially seen a triple-digit day yet in our area, some are on the way. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are all predicted to be days on which the thermometer will hit 100 degrees F. or more. This is the time of year when heat can become very dangerous. Most of us have already heard at lest one news report that a child or pet was left in a car on a hot day with a tragic outcome. Even when the temperature outside a car is only 80 degrees, the temperature inside a car can quickly reach 120 degrees without air conditioning, even with the windows cracked.
