Virginia Delta (Wallace) Reno, 83, of Mesquite, passed away on July 26, 2014 in Mesquite, TX surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 11, 1930 to Herman Wallace and Mattie (Scudmore) Wallace in Carbondale, IL. Known as “Jenna” to her father, she lived a normal, joyful life of a young girl until her life was altered her 5th grade school year. That was the year she met the love of her life, Jack Reno. She introduced herself by shoving him, face first, to the ground and when asked “What did you do that for?”, she replied, with smiling eyes “because I like you.” This was the beginning of an epic love story. They matured together and grew closer with time. On April 10, 1949, they were wed. “Jenna”, as he began calling her, and Jack enjoyed traveling in their RV and spent many hours on the beaches collecting sea shells. They taught ballroom dancing and sang in the church choir together. Virginia volunteered her time as a Girl Scout Leader, and helped raise money for Relay for Life. She and Jack delivered meals for homebound elderly as a part of Meals on Wheels. “Grandma Jenny” adored all her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren who worshipped the ground she gracefully walked on. Virginia’s sweet nature and love of life will be missed by all who knew her. Virginia is preceded in death by her parents, and brothers Orlen H. Wallace and James Robert Wallace. Those left to celebrate her life are beloved husband of 65 years, Jack Reno, Jr.; children Sharon Hudson and husband Duf of Talty, Michael and wife B., of Carbondale, IL, and Nancy Reno of Sullivan, IL; grandchildren Ashley L. Johnson and husband Ryan, Eric Hudson and wife Maggie, Stacey Stewart and husband Joe, Heath Sanders, and Rowdy Sanders; great grandchildren Carter, Brooks and Knox Hudson, Landrie Johnson, and Logan, Lindsey, Lance, and Luke Hunt. She is also sur vived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and relatives who will all miss her dearly. Virginia Reno leaves behind a Legacy…..a mark that can never be erased. In honor of Virginia, family asks donations be made to the Alzheimers Association.
