James H. Watson

James H. Watson, 87, passed away Wednesday June 4, at Baylor Hospital of Dallas with his family by his side. James was born December 17, 1926 in Sikeston, MO. to Charles H. and Robbie Ann Watson. James grew in a Children’s Home in Portales, New Mexico from age 6 until the age of 16 years old. At the age of 16 years old he enlisted in the US Navy. He served on the USS Chenango (CVE-28) as a Seaman First Class in the Pacific during World War II, until he was honorably discharged in 1946. In 1948 James married the love of his life Ruth Ann Orton. They were married almost 51 years, until her death in 1999. He worked for over 20 years as a Railroad Engineer, followed by the City of Dallas as a Climate Control Tech for over 10 years. James is sur vived by his three daughters; Debbie (Bill) Schley, Stacy (Robert) Bailey, and Cindy (Mike) Elder, 8 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Ann and great grandchild Robbie Ann, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation only will be at Grove Hill Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas from 12:00-2:30 pm on June 7, 2014, Graveside services will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Forney, Texas at 3:30.
