Gary Lee Smith, 55, of Garland, Texas passed away on Wednesday morning, March 4, 2015. He was born in Roanoke, Va. on November 9, 1959 to parents John T. Smith Jr. (deceased) and Anna Mae Smith. He continued his pursuit of education throughout his life and received a BS in Chemistry and Philosophy from Roanoke College in Salem, Va. and later received an MS in Management & Industrial Engineering. He holds numerous patents and professional certifications and was a member of several professional organizations during his career as an Engineer. He is survived by his wife, Laura Smith; son, James Lee Smith; mother, Anna Mae Smith; brother, Kevin Smith and his wife, Cindy Miller. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, numerous cousins from his extended family, and many life-long friends.
