Forney had a group of special visitors Monday. Michael Forney, a descendant of John W. Forney for whom our community was named more than 100 years ago, came to town with his immediate family and a group of friends July 11. As soon as the Forneys reached the exact 6,000 mile mark of an extended road trip, they rolled their white SUV into the center of town and parked across from City Hall. There they were greeted by the Forney Messenger, City Council member Mary Penn, Stewart McGregor, assistant to FEDC Executive Director Warren Ketteman, and a representative of inForney.com.
