Before Jesus came and sacrificed Himself on the cross and established a new covenant, GOD’S people was responsible for keeping GOD’S law and offering sacrifices when they failed and sinned against GOD. Under the new covenant today, we are more responsible than they were because we have the indwelling Holy Spirit to help us resist temptation to sin and to rebuke us when we do.
