Progress of Forward Focus updated at Oct. 5 trustee meeting

At Monday night’s school board meeting, Forney trustees heard a progress report on ‘Forward Focus and the District Improvement Plan from Dr. Justin Terry, Chief Learning Officer. The updates consisted of the six board goals for Forward Focus and the District Improvement Plan. Dr. Terry talked about how these board goals are guiding the district to prepare for growth; financial stability, which includes having two months of operating expenses in the fund balance; refinancing of long-term debt and managing debt; saving energy, and a resource management strategy.
