Unity Bowl Parade is approaching

 he 2016 Unity Parade is just a little more than a week away.

 he parade is scheduled to start lining up at 8:00 a. m. Saturday, Oct. 31 in the parking lot of the old Jackrabbit Stadium on S. Bois d’Arc St. The parade will move out at 10:00 a. m.

 rand Marshal this year will be Rick Barnes, who will retire as Forney’s police chief and as a Forney law enforcement officer the day of the parade. Barnes has served the City of Forney for 37 years.

 rizes will be awarded for the top three floats entered in the parade and for Best Entry.

 arents—keep your children safe before the parade by  bringing them to the parking lot in front of Warren Middle School and then escorting them to their float. Children who have ridden in the parade will be escorted to buses after the parade for transport back to Warren Middle School.

 hildren and adults who ride on floats may gently toss candy to spectators but should NEVER throw it. Thrown candy, especially hard candy, can cause injuries.
