Ground broken for Fire Station No. 2

Last Friday morning, Aug. 7, Forney city officials,  first responders and residents gathered at a site  on Reeder Rd. just off FM  548 to attend the ground breaking for the Forney Fire Department’s second  full-service fire station. The ceremony began at  9:00 a. m. with a welcome b Forney Fire Chief Rick Townsend. Townsend, who has held the position of the Forney Fire Department’s first paid fire chief since  2006, opened the hour-long  ceremony with a warm welcome to dignitaries, first responders  and guests.
