City officials take oath of office

At 6:00 p. m. May 19, the City of Forney canvassed the unofficial returns in the May 9 municipal election under the direction of City Secretary Dorothy Brooks. Council member and Mayor Pro Tem Andy Parker called the special meeting to order. The City Secretary read the results of the election. Then the Mayor Pro Tem asked for a motion to accept the canvass as read by Ms. Brooks. Council member Ray Stephens made the motion, with a second by Parker. All Council members voted in favor, and the special meeting was adjourned at 6:02 p.m.
