The Spellman Museum, to open in the near future in two adjacent buildings near the corner of S. Bois d’Arc and W. Main St., will be part of the Tour of Historic Homes to be held this weekend in conjunction with Liberty Fest and Forney’s 140th birthday celebration. Come see part of the transformation that has taken place here!

Spellman Museum part of historic tour

By CHARLES BEASON.

This coming weekend during the Liberty Fest to celebrate the 140th anniversary of Forney, the Spellman Museum of Forney History will be one of five locations that will allow glimpses of the past. Although the museum displays are not complete at this time, there will be a “sneak preview” on Sunday, May 25, from 1:00-5:00 p m. The other buildings on the tour include two beautiful historic homes on South Center Street, the former First Presbyterian Church (now home of Souls Refuge Church), and a private collection of classic automobiles and other memorabilia.
