Fun with a serious purpose

A quarter auction Friday evening, July 29—perhaps the first one ever held in Forney—raised more than $7,000.00 to help the families of the five Dallas law enforcement officers slain and the families ot those who were wounded in a vicious ambush attack in early June. The quarter auction was put together in less than two weeks by a group of volunteers. Volunteers who helped during the event included members of the Forney Lions Club. The quarter auction took place at the Venue 80 on the south service road of U. S. 80. Doors opened at 6:30 p. m. to a full house. Forney police and other first responders were invited as special guests.
