FEF grant helps FISD visually impaired students

Jennifer Gillispie, Forney ISD Vision Specialist, had applied for a grant from the Forney Education Foundation for a scanner. It scans printed work and then with the software it has, converts it to Braille. Jennifer’s embosser then prints out the work in Braille.

“This is used for our visually impaired students in the district,” she says. “The scanner enables us to spend more time in the schools, working with our students, instead of being in the office typing.”
