End of year means Girl Scout leader appreciation
By CARY GRIFFIN
The end of every Girl Scout activity year means something very special—leader appreciation. Leader Appreciation may involve an elaborate event such as a luncheon, or it may be as simple as a brief recognition. This year, leader appreciation came at the end of Service Unit 183’s annual Leader-Daughter event on May 14. As each leader’s name was called, she or he was given an opportunity to choose a small appreciation gift from an assortment arranged on the stage in the McClain Family Life Center at First United Methodist Church. Photo shows the leaders who were present, along with the girls who had attended the Leader-Daughter event held earlier. Volunteer leaders are the core of the Girl Scout movement.
