Rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated

This was Mark Twain’s response when a newspaper had inadvertently published his obituary. It is one of my favorite quote because it is an example of how the Master Wordsmith can put the subject into perspective and dismiss it in just eight words. As you know from reading my column, it often takes me a lot more words to say what is on my mind, but this quote seems apt for the subject I am going to share this week. Last Thursday I was working at the Pecan Orchard. As I shared last week, I grew up on farm work and although my life is quite different now, when it comes hard work needs to be done I am not afraid of it.
