Laymen’s Corner
by WILLIE HOLT
Well, it is time again to make all those New Year’s resolutions that we love to make, but seldom keep. I think the first one that we all make is, (I am going to be a better person this year), but since I have never been a better person, it will be hard for me to be one. (I think trying to explain that would only add to the confusion). Isn’t that a good way to begin the New Year? Another resolution we often make is, I am going to be a better Christian, I am going to and will support my church each and every time I am able. That should be easy to do, but I find when I make a promise like that I find a lot of opposition from the devil and his hosts. There always seems to be a good excuse to skip church. I don’t know where all the excuses come from, but I know they are always there.
