A lot of Texans, including this writer, are appalled at the priorities that apparently have been set by our representatives in Austin with the opening of a new legislative session this week. Two of the bills that have received the highest priority are the so-called “bathroom bill”, which has been pushed relentlessly by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, and another Republican-sponsored bill to build a wall along the Texas-Mexico border, which lends backing to one of President-elect Donald Trump’s campaign promises.
