Richard Raymond Kozelski

Richard Raymond Kozelski passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the age of 92. He was born to Richard Joseph Kozelski & Erna Gerthrude (Rabenaldt) Kozelski in Yorktown, Texas on July 5, 1924.

Mr. Kozelski graduated from Yorktown High School where he was part of the 6 man football team and he attended Texas Tech University. He proudly served in the Air Force during WWII where he was a pilot. He married the love of his life, Nayadean Ridgway on November 20, 1949. Richard was a rancher at The Tick Farm in Atoka, OK. Mr. Kozelski also owned Kozelski Electronics in Dallas for 23 years. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, spending time with his family, and he was also a private pilot. He was a member of American Legion, Disable Veterans Association, The Republican Party where he was instrumental in turning Kaufman County into a Red County, & a member of the Church of Christ for 43 years. He was also one of the founding member of the Kaufman County Master Gardeners. In 2015, he was honored with an Honor Flight for veterans where he was able to fly in a Stearman Biplane in Terrell, Texas.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Richard Joseph Kozelski & Erna Gerthrude Kozelski.

Mr. Kozelski is survived by his loving wife, Nayadean Kozelski; daughter, Kim Kozelski; nephews, Brian Ridgway & Reed Ridgway; & his little corgi buddies, St. John & Lacey to cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home in Terrell, Texas from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, Februar y 8, 2017. Graveside Service will be at 11:15 a.m. at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas, Thursday, February 9, 2017.
