Myra Edna Shipley Belz

Myra Edna Shipley Belz was born in Forney, Texas to Lewis “Luke” Shipley and Inez Townsend Shipley on January 25, 1938. Known as “Molly” to her friends and family, she spent her entire life in Forney. She raised her two children, Bobby and David Belz and was a dedicated, determined, loving mother that worked hard to provide every opportunity to her boys. Myra went to work for Carrier Corporation as a “girl friday”/secretary in 1962. During her 36 dedicated years of service she was the first woman that held an executive level position with the corporation. She was well respected by all her co-workers and clients because of her knowledge and work ethic. She returned in 1998 and then continued her career in the A/C business at 4L Engineering until March 2016. Myra met Dennis Baskins the love of her life in 1973 and they were faithfully together for 43 years. Myra was preceded in death by her mother and father, Lewis and Inez Shipley and brother, Larry Shipley. She is lovingly survived by son, Bobby Belz and wife Missy of Lovington, New Mexico and son, David Belz and wife DeDe of Forney, Texas and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephew, niece, great nephews and sister-in-law. Visitation is tonight April 25, 2016 at New Hope Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Service will be Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM at New Hope.
