Marilyn Briscoe
Marilyn Briscoe of Forney went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by her family February 11, 2017 in Forney. She was born January 1, 1925 in the Campground Community to the late Enos Eldon and Ora Mable Wilson Vaughan. Marilyn attended Wilmer Hutchins High School and she later married the love of her life JD Briscoe. Marilyn and JD raised their family on their farm and she was a dedicated rancher’s wife by her hard work and making sure that cooking a good meal three times a day was something her family could count on and grow strong from. She and JD were devoted to each other as well as raising their children with a love for the Lord, kindness to others and a good work ethic. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Forney and was a longtime employee having worked for High Point Water Supply for 25 years. Marilyn loved the Lord, her grandbabies and her family and she will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, infant sister and sister Judy Townsend. She is survived by her daughters Carol Martin of San Saba County and Sherry Riggs and her husband Paul of Forney; grandchildren: Tommy Martin and wife Marta, Cade Martin and wife Tammy, Justin Martin, Kristi Edwards and husband Josh and Kaci Riggs, Josh Martin; great grandchildren: Josh, Jeremy, and Jared Martin, Blevin and Brinnon Edwards, Macy Schultz, Marci Martin, Cody Martin, Brittany Hammond, and Nathan Martin; great-great grandchildren: McKinley Schultz and Ryder Hammond; brother, Fritzie Vaughan of Kaufman, as well as other nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. Funeral services will be Monday 10:00 a.m. February 13, 2017 at First Baptist Church Chapel in Forney with family receiving friends 9:30am until ser vice time. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Max Slayton Funerals and Cremations. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Higher Ground Campaign P.O.
